Kartell

Kartell is an Italian manufacturer of design furniture and home accessories. The company is known for its industrial production of the best quality, with remarkable technological content. Kartell owes its success to top designers such as Philippe Starck, Antonio Citterio, Ronan & Erwan Bouroullec, Ferruccio Laviani, Ron Arad, Patrick Jouin and Patricia Urquiola. Especially the transparent Philippe Starck chairs have become a great success over the years. Even today, Kartell and Philippe Starck are working closely together on innovative designs. A little history

Kartell was founded in 1949 for the production of car accessories but expanded in 1963 to include home furnishings. The founders, Anna Castelli Ferrrieri and Giulio Castelli, were architects by training and very modern and innovative for their time. The company's success is largely due to Anna, who was one of the first women to graduate from architecture school in Milan. Her designs are still known today and are sold worldwide. In the meantime, Kartell has won several awards in cooperation with different designers and has built a vast reputation at home and abroad.

Apart from the iconic chairs, lighting is also well represented at Kartell. Kartell lamps are not only beautiful but also practical. One of them is called 'Cindy'. This table lamp has a shiny, chromed finish which makes it seem almost contemporary. In addition to classic designs, there are also playful ones such as "Taj".
